Brunswick on a Saturday arvo

I was just promenading down Dawson St towards Sydney Rd (keeping a sharp eye out for mad Francesca), and happened to walk past the church near the corner. In their function room about 20 people were obediently grouped in a semi-circle, backs very straight, concentrating very hard. A few had something flat propped on their knees, and there was a dim tinkling sound emanating from the door. I tiptoed closer to have a look. Scientologists? I thought. Testing their E-meters perhaps? I pretended to tie my shoe. Don’t be silly, it’s a church. I then reasoned. And there’s a sign with a cartoon kid on it that says ‘I’m not perfect, but God doesn’t make mistakes’. Finally I noticed the poster on the door which read:

THE WILD MEN OF HARPSICHORD
